Jong-Woo Kim was born in Seoul in1968, started to learn to play the piano at 7, and then to compose by myself at 15. Since 18, have learned it more systematically in a regular course. When in college, was taught composition by prof. Young-Chul Koo & prof. Ga-Hyun Cho, counterpoint and harmony by prof. Nae-Sun Lee, and modern music analysis by prof. Kyung-Eun Kim. In postgraduate research institution, learned composition from prof. In-Yong La, Cheong-Mook Kim, and Sung-Hyun Yun. Was awarded with "3 Movements of Woodwind Quintet" in " The public subscription of creative musics" hosted by KBS(Korean Broadcasting System) radio in Korea, and in that year, introduced my compositions in "Taegu Contemporary Music Festival" held in Korea. Was also awarded with "My Heartist Wish for Piano Trio" in "The 35th Dong-Ah Music Concours" hosted by Dong-Ah daily newspaper co. of Korea in 1995. In addition, there are also my musical works such as "Woodwind Trio", "Second Story for Piano", and "Etude for Violin and Cello" etc.
