Elizabeth Anderson first
studied music at Gettysburg College (Pennsylvania, U.S.A.)
where she received
a Bachelor of Arts
in 1982. She obtained a Master of Music in composition from
the Peabody Conservatory of Music (Maryland, U.S.A.) in 1987.
Later
that year she travelled to Brussels, Belgium to study instrumental
composition with Jacqueline Fontyn at the Brussels Royal Conservatory
(Certificate in Composition awarded in 1990). She received
the first final diploma in electronic music composition at
the Royal
Conservatory of Antwerp in 1993 with Joris de Laet. In
1994 she received the “Premier Prix” and in 1998
the “Diplôme Supérieur” in electroacoustic
music composition at the Royal Conservatory of Mons with Annette
Vande Gorne. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in
electroacoustic music at City University, London with Denis
Smalley. She organized
and developed a comprehensive course of electroacoustic composition
at the Academy of Music in Soignies (Belgium) from 1994 until
2002. She lectured in the department of electroacoustic composition
at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (Belgium) in 2003-2004.
Per
Bloland. Originally from
New York City, Per Bloland received an undergraduate degree in
Psychology from the University of
Michigan. He went on to pursue a second Bachelors degree in composition
from San Francisco State University, where he studied with Ron
Caltabiano and Josh Levine. As a Masters student at the University
of Texas at Austin, he studied with Kevin Puts, Russell Pinkston
and Bruce Pennycook. He is currently working toward a Doctorate
at Stanford University and studying with Mark Applebaum. He recently
won first prize in the “SEAMUS/ASCAP" Student Commission
Competition and grand prize in the “Digital Art Awards”,
Tokyo, Japan. In Addition he has been a finalist in the International
Contemporary Music Contest “Città di Udine”,
The “SCI/ASCAP Student Commission Competition” and
the “Pierre Schaeffer International Computer Music Competition”.
Maxwell Dulaney received
his bachelors of Music from the University of Alabama in 2002
where he studied
Composition under Dr. C.P.
First and music theory with Dr. Stephen Peles. After graduation
he traveled to Europe to attend courses at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse
in Germany. Currently he is a PhD candidate at Brandeis and is
studying Composition with Marty Boykan and David Rakowski. His
composition “Implosions”, written in spring 2004,
will be performed in Udine, Italy, during the “5th International
Contemporary Music Composition Concert” on the 23rd of
October.
Jean-François Laporte. Since becoming involved in music
in 1993, Jean-François has written some 50 works that
have been performed in Montreal, across Canada and in Europe,
Japan and the United States. Last year, his work “Prana” received
first prize in the mixed music category of the 23rd International “Luigi
Russo electroacoustic music competition”. In Octobre 2003,
the composer finishing the composition and computer music program
at “IRCAM” in Paris, which he created (Le sang de
la terre, a 25 minutes piece for Bowl, Flying Can and digital
processing). Also in the season 2003-2004 the composer are in
artistic residencies at Radio-Canada. Along with his activities
as a composer, since 2000 he has been developing and making musical
instruments that produce unconventional sounds. “Tribal” -
April 2002, is one of the compositons written for these kind
of instruments, that features about 40 musicians in a 50 minutes

Barbara Magnoni studied
composition with David Maculi, that she married, and she took
the diploma
at the Conservatory of Adria.
She specialized (three years course) in Composition with G. Manzoni
at the school of Music of Fiesole. She studied also piano and
she took the diploma with full marks in 1994 at the Conservatory
of Latina. Her works has been performed in Italy and abroad (Austria,
Germany, Japan, Nederland, Slovenija, Switzerland and others)
and published by some Publishing Houses. Since 2003 she is Artistic
Director, with David Macculi, about the project "Hommage à Breccia" where
they involved 24 composers from seven nations. She works also
as essayist, lecturer (Università di Padova, Musikhochschule,
Istituto Austriaco di Roma and others) and as concert player
at piano.
Jeffrey Roberts.
The compositions of Jeffrey Roberts unite his experiences as
an improviser (be-bop,
free jazz Brazilian music)
and composer. His music has been performed in Germany, France
and The United States. He has received the “Kaske Prize
Fellowship” from the Wellesley Composer’s Conference
and the “University Prize Instructorship” from Brandeis
University. Mr. Roberts holds degrees in both improvisation (B.M.
New England Conservatory) and Composition (M.M. Boston University).
Currently he his pursuing a PhD in Composition at Brandeis University.
Roberta
Silvestrini. She begins her musical studies of Piano and Composition
and she took some diplomas, that of Composition
with M°Samorì and other: Conduction of Orchestra,
Instrumentation for Band and Didactics of the music at the Conservatory “G.
Rossini” of Pesaro. She took the diploma of Choral music
and Conduction of Choirs at the Conservatory “G. B. Martini” of
Bologna. She specialized at “Accademia Chigiana” of
Siena and at “Accademia S. Cecilia” of Roma with
the M° Franco Donatoni. She works with international soloists,
theatral associations and national and international ensemble.
Her works has been performed and transmitted by RAI and other
television and radio istitutions and has been pubblished by important
Publishing Houses. She is also Chorus and Orchestra Conductor.
She is a teacher at “G.B. Pergolesi” National Conservatory
of Fermo (AP)
