IV° International Contest
"Città di Udine"
2001/2002

The TauKay Music Publishing House with the City Council of Udine announces the results of the IV International Contemporary Music Contest "Città di Udine".

The Jury is thus composed:

Bernardino Beggio, (Italia) Director of Interensemble, Composer, Professor at the Palermo Conservatoire
Michele Biasutti, (Italia) Composer, psycologist, University of Padova
Philippe Blanchard, (France) Composer, Director of the Studio Forum of Annecy
Liliana Cargnelutti, (Italia) Culture Assessorship of the City Council of Udine
Salvatore Macchia, (USA) Composer, Professor at the Massachusetts University of Amherst
Alexander Shchetynsky, (Ukraine) Composer

126 scores and recordings are arrived at our office (49 for electroacoustic section and 77 for chamber instrumental group)

The Jury, verified the good quality of the works arrived, made a first selection. The Finalists of the Contest were:

Between the Finalists the Jury chose:

First Prize ex equo for the "Instrumental compositions for chamber instrumental group" section (1500 euros divided between two Composers, public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)

Satoshi Ohmae with the composition Altro Festone
Leilei Tian with the composition Wu

First Prize absolute for "electro-acoustic, analogical and digital music" section (1500 euros, public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)

Antti Saario with the composition bullet train ballad n.1

Between the Finalists four compositions from the "instrumental compositions for chamber instrumental group" section and one compositions from the "electro-acoustic, analogical and digital music" section have been selected for the performance and are to be included in the compact disc compilation.

Authors selected from the "instrumental compositions for chamber instrumental group" section:
Marco Bertona with the composition YGGDRASIL
Kee-Yong Chong with the composition Four short Laments for X
Fabrizio Fanticini with the composition Lagune oltre Kronos
Antonio Giacometti with the composition Battito d'ali

Authors selected from the "electro-acoustic, analogical and digital music" section:
Roberto Filoseta with the composition Threnody

The selected compositions will be performed and recorded for the CD compilation in the "Contemporanea 2002" review, in October 2002, in Udine. The CD will be inserted between the records of Taukay Music Publishing House
